Negotiating Your Value: Asking for Promotions, Raises and Contracts and Other Work Related Considerations. Learn how to improve your negotiation skills with Margaret Anderson Kelliher, the CEO of MHTA. Margaret will lead an hour-long interactive Women Leading in Technology session that will use cased-based learning, including video and interaction with participants. Our case study will focus on a woman leader who’s seeking a promotion and raise; the skills learned will be transferable to multiple business situations and may be used personally as well.

Margaret Anderson Kelliher holds a Master’s Degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government where she focused on Negotiation and Leadership in her studies. She leads the Minnesota High Tech Association and teaches at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, where her Managing Conflict course is rated the best class of the fall offerings at the Humphrey School.

Margaret served twelve years in the Minnesota Legislature, and was the elected Speaker of the Minnesota House for two terms. As the chief negotiator for the the Minnesota House, she led negotiations on the $34B state budget and a wide range of policy issues; she successfully led many signature pieces of legislation, including Minnesota’s most recent comprehensive transportation investment package, the passage of the Legacy Amendment to the ballot and implementation of the Legacy Amendment after passage, and Minnesota’s Renewable Energy Standard.
